Adults hit a wall with Spanish — and stay there.

Apps, group classes and grammar books rarely reach the sentences you actually need.

— 01

The words don't come out.

You know the vocabulary. It just isn't there when you actually need it in real conversation.

— 02

Every meeting drifts to English.

The room switches "to be faster" — and you never actually build the fluency you came for.

— 03

Life still feels translated.

You didn't come to Latin America to live it in English. Six months in and it's not clicking.

From stuck to Spanish that shows up.

What changes when the plan is built around the way you actually use it.

Where most adults stay stuck

  • Vocabulary you can't retrieve mid-sentence.
  • Meetings that switch back to English.
  • Apps and group classes that miss your weak spots.
  • A long B1/B2 plateau you can't break.

Where you end up

  • Words arrive on time — no more translating.
  • You run the meeting and the negotiation in Spanish.
  • Every lesson targets what's blocking you next.
  • C1, C2 and DELE become a question of when.

Israeli Ambassador · Israel

I am an Israeli diplomat who studied Spanish with Mrs. Elizabeth Vigo while stationed in Peru. In a very short time she managed to bring my Spanish to a level that allowed me to read a newspaper and understand it. I have only good things to say about Mrs. Vigo, both as a teacher and as a friend.

Professor of Social Work · USA

I loved Elizabeth's flexible teaching style, focusing on topics that I found interesting and relevant as an adult. Also her sense of humour — learning is really fun with her!

Diplomat & Writer · Israel

Elizabeth is a fantastic teacher — not only did she manage to teach us both Spanish in record time, but we also enjoyed every minute of it. No standard books, but a structured approach which also contained a lot about the local culture, politics and history.

Photographer · Israel

I arrived in Peru from Israel without speaking any Spanish at all. After only a short time with Elizabeth I was already communicating with people, and after three months I had learned enough to travel around South America.

Elizabeth was our profesora for one year during our stay in Lima, Peru. I not only highly recommend her for Spanish instruction, she also imparted her love of the Peruvian people and culture. We learned so much from her in one year!

I would HIGHLY recommend taking a course of Spanish with Elizabeth. Her professionalism is evident from the first encounter, as is her formidable knowledge of Spanish grammar. She tailors her lessons to the individual needs of her students.

Before Elizabeth's classes I couldn't speak a word of Spanish. Now I can speak Spanish very well. She is a good teacher — patient, easy, and with a good sense of humour. Very patient with lazy students like I was.

Excellent professor for Spanish learning. I miss you and our class a lot.

Online or in person — what's the difference?

Pedagogically, nothing. Same materials, same pace, same depth. Online means a video call; in person means I come to your home or office anywhere in Lima, Peru. Many students mix both.

How much does it cost?

Individual lessons start at $30 per hour. Most students choose a 10- or 15-lesson pack for a lower rate per lesson. Conversation and small-group rates are listed above.

Do you prepare students for the DELE?

Yes — all six levels, A1 to C2. We start with a diagnostic, focus on the weakest sections, and finish with timed mock exams and exam-day strategy. More about DELE prep.

Do you teach business or technical Spanish?

Often. Diplomatic protocol, medical Spanish, contract review, board presentations — we shape the materials around your real work.

I'm a complete beginner — is that fine?

Yes. About a third of my students start from zero. The free level test is optional; we can simply talk on WhatsApp and find your starting point together.

What's included in a lesson?

A planned session built around your goals, all materials (readings, audio, articles, literature, songs, series, films, PDF books and workbooks), homework if you want it, and notes afterwards.

How do I book?

Send me a message on WhatsApp. We'll agree on a time, level and goal, and you'll start that week.

How quickly do you reply?

Usually within a few hours during Lima daytime (UTC−5). Always within 24 hours.

Speak the Spanish you came here to speak.

WhatsApp me and we'll take it from there — or try the five-minute level test first.
